Nestled in the town of Pittsford, this grand home is marked by its commanding front pillars, timeless symmetry and stands as a piece of history. Built in an era of Georgian and Colonial inspiration in 1920, the house has long carried an air of distinction. Over the years, modern updates softened some of its original voice, and our task is to restore the home to the spirit of its golden era. This signature project is one where heart, history, and home all converge.
Winterbourne Manor
This historic home is being lovingly reimagined with a reverence for the past and a devotion to craft in every detail. Our design approach layers in architectural richness, custom millwork, and storied materials that speak back to the home’s original language—ensuring that as our clients move through each space, they feel as if they’ve stepped into another moment in time.
A House Reimagined: Where History and Heart Converge
One of the most powerful tools in our process is 3D modeling. It allows our clients to truly experience their future home before construction ever begins. From exploring layout options to fine-tuning the details, this visual clarity builds confidence in every design decision. By the time we’re ready to break ground, everyone is aligned, the direction is clear, and the vision feels tangible. It’s a game-changer! Throughout the build, the model remains accessible to the entire team, providing a shared reference point that eliminates confusion and keeps the project moving forward with precision and intention.

Design You Can Step Into
The pantry is designed to be a beautiful workhorse: equally suited for everyday living and effortless entertaining. Backup appliances are thoughtfully tucked away behind gathered cabinetry, while open shelving, woven baskets, and thoughtfully organized storage create a space that feels as charming as it is functional. Every detail was considered to bring warmth and character to even the most practical room in the home.
Handcrafted Delft tile surrounds the range and wraps the fireplace surround, introducing moments of artistry that feel collected over time. Curated displays of vintage pottery, layered natural materials, and thoughtful architectural detailing create a kitchen that feels deeply rooted in history while remaining perfectly suited for modern family life.
A long built-in desk provides a dedicated space for organizing the rhythms of daily life, framed by a carved canopy overhead that distinguishes it as its own intimate destination. Walnut-lined recessed bookshelves visually connect the kitchen to the gathering room, while custom millwork throughout restores a richness and permanence that makes the home feel as though it has always belonged.
Throughout the kitchen, the cabinetry is designed to read as timeless furniture rather than built-ins. Carved corbels, wood-lined interiors, and cremone bolts add a sense of craftsmanship, while gathered fabric curtains soften upper glass-front cabinetry and conceal lower storage in place of traditional doors. A brass pot hanger suspended above the island becomes both a functional centerpiece and a nod to old-world kitchens, encouraging beautiful cookware to become part of the room's story.
Kitchen + Pantry
In the mud hall, a recessed alcove offers a welcoming spot to slip boots on and off, while a dedicated station for the family pups, equipped with a faucet and feeding space ensures no family member is forgotten. Custom painted cupboards provide storage for each individual, a vintage mirror gives a final check on the way out, and painted paneling integrates the space into the home’s architectural rhythm. At the center, an island styled as a vintage furniture piece ties back to the kitchen cabinetry.
The gathering room dovetails seamlessly with the kitchen, anchored by a carved wood fireplace and flanked by custom wood-lined built-ins. The kitchen’s adjacent large island wraps a banquette for dining and extends into a run of counter seating, creating a natural flow for gatherings. Beyond, a cushy sectional beckons family movie nights, with the Frame TV doubling as artwork when idle. Overhead, painted beams stretch across both kitchen and great room, wrapping the spaces in warmth and texture from ceiling to floor.
Gathering Room + Mudhall
The primary suite was envisioned as a true retreat, a destination within the home designed for slowing down and restoration. Wrapped in a soft sage green palette with a delicate dancing floral wallpaper, the room evokes the quiet charm of an English cottage while remaining timeless and refined. Rather than designing the space solely for sleeping, we envisioned a place to begin and end each day with intention.

Architectural millwork applied to the pitched ceiling draws the eye upward, adding depth and character. One of our signature design elements is the custom bed alcove, where the bed is gently tucked into its own architectural niche. This subtle gesture creates an immediate sense of intimacy, transforming the sleeping area into a cozy sanctuary within the larger room.
A built-in breakfast nook and kitchenette create the opportunity for quiet mornings with coffee, reading, or simply enjoying the view without ever leaving the suite. Every detail was thoughtfully considered to encourage comfort, relaxation, and a slower pace of living. The primary suite also includes his and her bath as well as his and her closet.
Together, the bedroom, baths, and dressing rooms embody our belief that the most memorable homes are designed around how people want to feel. Every architectural detail, finish, and furnishing was selected to create a retreat that is timeless and designed for a life well lived.
Primary Bedroom
The adjoining his and hers primary baths continues that story of quiet luxury. Traditional millwork wraps the room, while warm wood cabinetry and unlacquered brass fixtures introduce timeless elegance. A freestanding soaking tub is positioned beneath twin windows, creating a peaceful focal point and a place to unwind at the end of the day.
The expansive walk-in shower in her bath serves as the room's centerpiece, wrapped in a warm raisin-and-cream gingham tile that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Underfoot, a delicate star-patterned mosaic floor adds a whimsical layer of texture and personality, while the generous proportions and integrated bench create a spa-like experience rooted in comfort and ease.
Her Bath
Designed to feel more like a boutique than a traditional closet, her dressing room transforms the everyday ritual of getting ready into an experience. Wrapped in warm, buttercream cabinetry and layered with delicate floral and ribbon-patterned wallcovering across both the walls and ceiling, the space feels light and unmistakably timeless.
At the center of the room, a generous marble-topped island provides both beauty and function, offering abundant storage while creating a natural gathering point for jewelry, accessories, and wardrobe planning. Open shelving, thoughtfully organized hanging space, and custom cabinetry ensure every item has its place without sacrificing elegance.
A built-in window seat invites quiet moments of pause, while an ornate antique-inspired mirror adds a sense of history and character, balancing the clean lines of the custom millwork. Soft brass accents and tailored lighting complete the room, creating a dressing space that feels collected, refined, and deeply personal. Rather than designing a closet simply for storage, we envisioned a room that celebrates the daily ritual of getting dressed. Every detail was thoughtfully considered to make the space feel effortlessly livable.
Her Dressing Room
His bath embraces a more tailored aesthetic, balancing timeless materials with bold architectural moments. Rich walnut cabinetry, warm brass fixtures, and arched doorways establish a sense of craftsmanship, while expansive windows flood the room with natural light.
The room is anchored by dramatic green-and-white marble wainscoting that wraps the perimeter, creating depth and texture without overwhelming the space. Underfoot, a striking black-and-white marble checkerboard floor introduces classic contrast and lends a sense of heritage, while the spacious walk-in shower continues the palette with richly veined green marble walls and a coordinating checkerboard mosaic floor. The result is a bathroom that feels equal parts traditional and unexpected.

A substantial marble-topped island anchors the room, offering generous storage and dedicated space for everyday essentials. Open shelving, custom hanging areas, integrated drawers, and mirrored corners maximize both functionality and the sense of spaciousness, while tailored lighting and refined detailing elevate the experience beyond that of a traditional closet.
